Join us alongside Dr. José Angel García-Beltrán, to learn about Caribea, an open-access, peer-reviewed scientific journaldesigned to fill a critical gap in the dissemination of knowledge about Caribbean floral. This journal’s main objective is to provide a platform for essential but underrepresented publications and is distinguished by its community-based and collaborative approach, managed by and for the Caribbean conservation community.
This presentation will discuss Caribea’s role as a regional resource for documenting and conserving our Caribbean flora, demonstrating how its open-access model and inclusive approach promote scientific collaboration and facilitate the implementation of effective conservation strategies.
Dr. José Angel García-Beltrán is the Editor-in-Chief of Caribea, the Taxonomic Authority Coordinator for the Cuban Plant Specialist Group of the IUCN Species Survival Commission (SSC), and faculty at the Universidad de Concepción, Chile.
